About Hope for Kenya’s Kids
Our story, our mission, and the people who make it possible.
Mission & History
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower Kenya’s future by providing school sponsorships that nurture the whole child — offering quality education, spiritual development, and family support including nutrition programs. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive community.
Our Work
Who We Are
Jan and Rick Hemphill have been involved in missions in Kenya for over 11 years. The first time they visited Kenya, God called them to serve Him and to help the people of the Mutiini Church located in the Rift Valley near Mount Mutiini. They have started many ministries at the church, including a Feeding Program that feeds lunch daily to seniors in the community and preschool children; a Weekend Feeding Program giving the seniors food for the weekend; and distribution of Bibles to the members of the church and the surrounding community.
The School Sponsorship Program, HOPE for Kenya’s Kids, will provide school for around 50 children.
